The purpose of this website is to create a list of all the useful lists you normally look up. These serve as checklists or just a guidance for you and helps you be a little more organized and less stressful.


Energy Saving Checklist

  • Turn off all lights, electrical appliances and equipments when not in use. Even if you leave a room for a few minutes, turn off the electricity
  • Switch to energy saving bulbs throughout your home
  • Use dimmer switches on lights
  • Switch to solar lights for gardens
  • Put equipments like computers in power saving mode.
  • Put equipments on a power strip and turn off the power strip as soon as you finish using them.
  • Turn off all appliances when you leave your home
  • Dress for the weather and reduce down heating and cooling costs
  • Close the vents in the rooms/areas you do not use to reduce heating/cooling costs
  • Clean/Replace filters every season to reduce heating and cooling costs
  • During summer close drapes and blinds during the day to reduce cooling cost.
  • During winter open the drapes and blinds in the windows facing the sun to reduce heating cost.
  • Turn off heating/cooling when no one is home.
  • Use fans strategically for cooling during summer instead of the air conditioner
  • Use personal heaters in the rooms which you use instead of heating the whole house
  • Make sure your house is properly insulated to reduce heating and cooling costs
  • Check your ducts for leakage periodically
  • Fix leaks through windows and doors to reduce heating and cooling costs
  • Plant trees strategically to reduce cooling costs

  • Drink lots of water and eat foods that are cooling to keep your body cool during summer and reduce cooling costs

  • Line dry cloths when ever possible
  • Switch to low flow shower heads and faucets
  • Turn down your water heater to a lower temperature
